Name:
Kevin Beck
Industry/Field:
Robotics, Automotive, Automation, and Mechatronics
Brief Introduction:
I live in the Chicagoland area and graduated from Northwestern in June 2025. I have two and a half years of experience as a mechanical and mechatronics engineer, and a mechanical engineering degree. I’m working Flashcut CNC, I designed, programmed, and assembled custom CNC automation solutions for various fabrication heads, including waterjet, oxyfuel, and plasma cutting. My most significant project at Flashcut was a Python and C++ machine-learning program to reduce errors while bevel cutting on a plasma-cutting collaborative robot. Last summer, I interned at Perseus Materials, where I designed an automated winch mechanism to propel a new form of composites manufacturing, increasing the speed of part creation by 75% and reducing defects by 20%. I’m looking to work in the robotics, automotive, or automation fields, but am open to any engineering position where I can use my mechanical and electronics engineering skills.
Preferred Location:
Atlanta, GA; Seattle, WA; Chicago, IL; relocation anywhere in continental US is reasonable
