Who: Jeff
Challenge: Jeff graduated from Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Business. He was struggling to figure out what type of career path to pursue since his graduation in May 2021. He took a few part-time jobs in the meantime as he was trying to figure this out.
Next Steps: Jim worked with Jeff in late January to help him discover where he wanted to go and prepare for any future opportunities
We coached Jeff on the following:
- Articulate Jeff’s strengths and the stories he could use to determine which career path he wanted to pursue
- He ultimately determined Real Estate was the career path he wanted to focus on
- We role-played and focused on how to answer behavioral-based interviewing questions based on the job description
- After Jeff answered the potential interview questions, we reviewed each one in detail
- Helped Jeff prepare an Interview template he could utilize in all interviews moving forward
- Debriefed after each interview to determine what went well and tough questions he wanted to review to improve for future interviews
Outcome: Once he determined what he wanted to do, Jeff landed a Commercial real estate job pretty quickly. He accepted a position in the Atlanta area as a data analyst
